Premier Late Spring

What We Did Today

Today we performed your Premier Late Spring Service, which is designed to strengthen the lawn heading into summer. On this visit we focused on three things: feeding the turf for steady growth, cleaning up active broadleaf weeds, and spot-treating any visible fungus so it doesn’t spread and thin the lawn. This service helps the lawn stay thicker, greener, and more uniform as temperatures and humidity start to rise.

What Products Were Applied

For this visit we used professional turf products and calibrated equipment to deliver even coverage and targeted control:

  • Dimension fertilizer – provides late-spring feeding plus extended pre and post crabgrass protection to reinforce earlier spring prevention.

  • SpeedZone – selective broadleaf weed control, applied where weeds were present.

  • Banner MAXX – systemic fungicide, spot-treated only where fungus was visible at the time of service (most commonly Red Thread).

How To Care For Your Lawn Now

WATERING

For best results, water your lawn 2–3 times per week for about 10–20 minutes per zone (adjust based on your sprinkler output, sun/shade, and how quickly your soil dries). This schedule promotes deeper roots and a healthier lawn overall. If we applied weed control during this visit, please allow the spray to dry for at least 1 hour before watering. After that, normal irrigation is fine, and watering helps move the fertilizer into the soil so it can begin feeding the lawn.

Mowing

  • It’s completely fine if your landscaper cuts the lawn the next day, as long as the grass is dry.

  • For best results:

    • Keep your mowing height on the higher side (around 3–3.5"+).

    • Avoid removing more than ⅓ of the grass blade at a time.

    • Avoid “scalping” the lawn, especially in sunny, exposed areas.

Disturbing the Soil

  • Try to avoid heavy raking, dethatching, or digging in the lawn right after this visit, especially in open or thin areas.

  • Those actions can disturb the DIMENSION barrier in the soil and create small gaps where crabgrass and weeds can sneak through.

What To Expect Next

Here’s what you can expect as this treatment takes effect:

  • Broadleaf weeds that were sprayed will:

    • Start to curl, darken, or wilt within several days.

    • Typically die off over 7–14 days, depending on the weed and weather.

  • Fungus‑affected areas that were treated with Banner MAXX:

    • May still show discoloration from past damage, but the goal is to stop the disease from actively spreading.

    • You should see fewer new patches forming and gradual improvement as healthy grass grows and is mowed.

  • The DIMENSION 0.15% Plus Fertilizer will:

    • Help the lawn green up and hold color through late spring.

    • Extend pre‑emergent weed protection for crabgrass and other listed weeds during the early part of summer.

This Late Spring visit, combined with your earlier Crabgrass Prevention and your upcoming Early Summer and Summer Check‑Up visits, is what helps Premier lawns stay more uniform and under control when summer stress hits.

Fequently Asked Questions about the Premier Spring Seeding

Yes. As a general rule, keep children and pets off the lawn after the application and until the treated areas are completely dry or the product has been watered in.

Yes, that’s completely fine. Mowing the next day will not hurt the treatment. For best results, we recommend the grass is dry when it’s cut and that your landscaper doesn’t scalp the lawn (keeping the mowing height on the higher side is better for lawn health).

That’s normal. The weed controls we used starts working quickly, but most weeds take 7–21 days to fully die, and some tougher types may take a bit longer or need a follow‑up spot treatment. If weeds are twisted, curled, or discolored, the product is already doing its job.

Fungicides don’t “erase” old damage; they stop the disease activity so the plant can recover. What you should see is less spreading and fewer new spots after treatment. For lawns more prone to fungus more than one fungicide application may be needed.

Yes. Many lawn treatments don’t leave a visible “film” on the grass. Granular products settle into the turf and soil, and liquid treatments are applied as a fine spray that dries quickly. You’ll typically notice results over time, gradual green-up from fertilizer and weed decline over the next 7–14 days depending on the weeds and weather.

In most cases, rain is not a problem. Light to moderate rainfall is often helpful, especially for granular applications, because it helps move the product into the soil. If heavy rain occurs immediately after treatment, results can vary slightly on slopes or areas with runoff, but your program includes future visits to monitor the lawn and address any issues that appear.

DIMENSION is a pre‑emergent herbicide, so seeding too soon into treated soil can prevent your grass seed from establishing. The label recommends waiting about 12 weeks after application before reseeding or overseeding.
